tässä ei ollut keittiö vielä kokonaan maalattu - uudemmat kuvat meni tietokoneen ongelmissa...


jääkaapin päälle tulee vielä yläkaappi.

sohvakalusto on ensimmäinen hankintamme - sänkyjen ohella. puuseppä on kullan arvoinen! kelibia on kuuluisa puuseppätöistään.

these are our first pieces of furniture, besides the beds. that carpenter is worth more than his weight in gold ;-) - kelibia is famous of his carpenters.

Ich weiß, ich weiß: weder keine besonders künstlerischen noch fototechnisch besonderen Bilder, aber ich muss sie doch zeigen! Ich habe schon immer von den bauchigen blauen Fenstergittern geträumt. Hier sind sie, frisch von der Werkstatt auf dem Weg zur Farbe...

Nothing very spectacular, nothing very fancy, nothing very artistic or even technically interesting this time. But I'll have to show them to you. I've always dreamed of these blue window cages with the round belly... See here. See them getting born!

Ei mitenkään hyvälaatuisia, saatikka taiteellisia kuvia, muta on ihan pakko näyttää! Olen aina unelmoinut talosta, jossa on sinisiset ikkunaluukut. No niistä tulee sitten "kalterit", mutta sitäkin ihanammat. Näin ne syntyvät...

marmorstaub und spitzenvorhänge

Leider habe ich meine Schwiegermutter nie kennen lernen können. Sie war von uns gegangen bevor ich zu dieser Familie finden konnte. Ich habe ein ganz starkes Gefühl, wir hätten uns wunderbar verstanden. Ihre alten Spitzen hängen immer vor den Fenstern. Genau so möchte ich meine Fenster auch bedecken, wenn unsere Baustelle mal keine Baustelle mehr ist.

Unfortunately I never had the chance to meet my mother-in-law. She had left this world before I came into her family. I have the strong feeling, we would have got along well. Her old lace curtains still hang on the windows and look just like the ones I'd love to have on mine, as soon as the house is ready.



Aus praktischen Gründen haben wir uns für Alufenster mit Aussenrollos entschieden, obwohl ich liebend gerne richtige Fensterläden aus Holz gehabt hätte, so wie mein Mann sie Zuhause hatte.

For practical reasons we decided to choose window frames of aluminium with those modern Persian blinds, though I would have loved to have those traditional wooden shuttern like my hubby used to have at home...



Sie wäre sehr stolz auf ihrem Sohn gewesen, der an so manchen Tag ganz schön hart gearbeitet hat. Marmor zu schneiden ist nicht so einfach... Aber jetzt habe ich ein Einbauherd!

She would have been proud of her son, working pretty hard on most of the days. To cut marble isn't that easy, but now we have a fitted cooker...

looking for inspirations...

We are still looking for inspirations for our window cages, though we'll pretty sure end up with the traditional kind ones, like those in Sidi Bou Said. The last photo shows our gate, half ready with the half ready unpainted door in the background...

Wir suchen immer noch nach Inspirationen für unsere "Fensterkäfige", obwohl wir uns eigentlich schon für die Traditionellen Bauchigen entschieden haben, die man aus Sidi Bou Said kennt. Das letzte Foto zeigt unser halbfertiges Tor mit unserem halbfertigen nicht bemalten Tür im Hintergrund...
